BMT Stars
The perfect group experience-gourmet dining and live theatre in one cozy venue. Converted from a historic bank building in 1999, Stars Theatre Restaurant has become a favorite stop on the itineraries of groups throughout southern California. Award-winning dining combined with outstanding Broadway musicals and comedies make Stars an unforgettable group experience.
Since 1969, the mission of the Bakersfield Music Theatre has been to produce quality musical theatre primarily with local talent through three venues: Stars Theatre Restaurant, Harvey Auditorium and BMT School of the Performing Arts. Artists of all ages are encouraged to participate on stage or in the seats through the Kids go to Theatre program. The Bakersfield Music Theatre serves the people of Bakersfield and the Kern County community.
Rental Facility The Stars Theatre has various rental opportunities for customers. There is a private meeting room that accommodates up to ten people. There is a larger room on the mezzanine that can host up to thirty at a table setting or more on chairs in a theatre setting. The show room which seats two hundred at tables can be used for meetings, demonstrations, or lectures.
All accommodations can have refreshments served during the event. These refreshments can include breakfast, lunch, or dinner. In addition, wedding receptions, weddings, parties, carry-out or catering can be individually arranged. The cost can be predetermined by our rental coordinator, Mrs. Bonnie VanVoorhis at 661-871-6311.

My Way
(MAY 31st - JUNE 13th)My Way, A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra celebrates the mystique of Ol’ Blue Eyes and the music he made famous. Two dynamic couples take the audience from the 1940’s swing era to the bright lights of Las Vegas with the Rat Pack and beyond.
Monty Python's Spamalot
(JULY 5th - 27th)The legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, Monty Python's SPAMALOT is Lovingly "ripped-off" from the internationally famous comedy team's most popular motion picture, Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Damn Yankees
(AUGUST 16th - Sept 7th)A Baseball fanatic trades his soul to the Devil for a chance to lead his favorite team to victory against the New York Yankees. As he transforms the team, he realize the true worth of the life he's left behind. Damn Yankees is a home-run hit with an irreverent sense of humor.
Les Miserables
(SEPTEMBER 27th - OCTOBER 19th)Based on Victor Hugo's novel. Policeman Javert pursues escaped convict Jean Valjean through revolutionary France. Valjean becomes mayor, and joins the fight for freedom. None of this impresses the single-minded Javert, until the day Valjean saves his life.
Barefoot in the Park
(NOVEMBER 8th - 23rd)In Neil Simon’s iconic comedy Barefoot in the Park, newlyweds Corie and Paul don't see eye-to-eye about their apartment, neighbors, or their sex drive, the new marriage experiences its first patch of rough weather.
Christmas at Stars
(DECEMBER 6th - 21st)Last year’s show was a major hit with our audience. Attendance and enthusiasm was at a high. We’ve got the returning cast with some wonderful surprises in store. Feel the Christmas spirit a great Christmas dinner. Book your party now.
The Producers
(JANUARY 17th - FEBRUARY 7th, 2014)The Producers, the story of down-on-his-luck Broadway producer, Max Bialystock, and nerdy, Leo Bloom, and their scheme to raise money to put on a flop of a show. Only one thing goes wrong: the show is a gigantic hit!

The Bakersfield Music Theatre is a not-for-profit 501(c3) corporation. Although only 25% of the $1.2 Million budget is dependent on donations, those donations are essential for the successful delivery of the organizations mission. Only 3% of the budget is administrative salaries. Your donation is tax deductible and efficiently spent on the costs of the Theatre.
